Like many, John’s career path has taken a number of twists and turns. After finishing school with a degree in Chemistry, he lifted beaker and flask as a chemist for a number of organisations. He soon realized his desire and his talents were focused on more strategic horizons. After joining a large multinational pharmaceutical and consumer products group, he held various senior positions in Quality Management, Confectionery Production, and Human Resource Management.

Since retiring, John’s avocations have been every bit as important as his work once was. He has been involved in a number of volunteer organisations, providing mentoring and coaching. He has also been instrumental in the development of numerous workshops and seminars, mostly in the area of mental health support.

John currently devotes much of his time and efforts as the Lay Minister for Celebrating the Spirit at West Hill United Church. In this capacity he helps to ensure that the services at West Hill are aligned with the values of the church.
