Janice Meighan

Janice Meighan is a student, educator, university lecturer, consultant, and ritual officiant within non-religious communities and for non-affiliated individuals. Throughout her 25-year career, she has worked and studied in the financial, fundraising, education, and religious sectors.
Janice also has extensive experience working in team environments, group facilitation, staff training, working with volunteers and executives. Janice has written articles for the business, financial, religious and bereavement sectors. Some of her essays appear on the Canadian Centre for Progressive Christianity’s web-site.
Janice holds a B.A. in Religious Studies (as a historian of the discipline), and is currently completing a Masters in this field at the University of Toronto. She holds certificates in counselling and leadership training. She is a certified bereavement and grief education counsellor (CBE) and is a member of the Association for Death Education and Counseling (USA). Janice is also a trained Business Systems/User Analyst.
Janice strongly believes in giving back to her community and volunteers broadly. For the last seven years, she has worked with and is currently a volunteer counsellor and group co-facilitator with the Survivor Support Program of Greater Toronto (Ontario). She is also an active member at West Hill United Church (Toronto, ON) and chairs the Wellness and Care Committee. Janice has facilitated and co-facilitated a variety of groups at West Hill.
